If that’s so, then that “merienda” is now causing him a lot of trouble.
“Sen. Jinggoy Estrada admitted on Friday, Feb 7, that Ruby Tuason occasionally went to the Senate to meet him but only to deliver merienda, not money,” reports Ria de Fiesta on ABS-CBNnews.com.
According to the report, Estrada was reacting to “Tuason’s claims that she personally delivered pork barrel kickbacks to Jinggoy in the Senate’s basement parking.”
On the contrary, Estrada said “whenever Tuason went to the Senate, she would call him up first so that a security aide or a driver can help her carry food.”
“Pag pumupunta sa Senate ‘yan, tatawag sa ‘kin ‘yan, ‘Oy Jinggoy pasundo mo naman ako dito.’ Utusan ko driver ko, or security ko, sunduin mo si Tita Ruby sa baba, may dalang merienda yan (Whenever she was at the Senate, she’d call me up and say, ‘Hey, Jinggoy, have someone fetch me.’ So, I’d ask my driver or my security guys to go down and get her because she was bringing in snacks),” he related.
Estrada added that “one of the reasons why Tuason decided to turn state witness is to save herself.” He implied that some forces were pressuring her to get him.
