We’d be shocked if he says he’s looking forward to it. (He isn’t.)
“Senator Jinggoy Estrada has made it known that he doesn’t want to be transferred to an ordinary jail,” reports Marc Jayson Cayabyab on Inquirer.net.
At his bail motion hearing at the Sandiganbayan on Tuesday, July 22, Estrada was asked for his reaction to the prosecution’s move asking the Sandiganbayan’s nod to transfer him to a city jail.
As ordered by the court, Estrada is currently detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center.
Estrada replied, “As far as I’m concerned, it’s very clear in the commitment order that we should be detained at the PNP Custodial Center. In fact, bakit kami isasali sa hardened o convicted criminals? (In fact, why should we be mixed with hardened or convicted criminals?) We’re not convicts.”
