Wow, the list of supporters for Mali the elephant is not only growing but it’s also growing better looking by the day. After Ely Buendia comes TV and film actor Jericho Rosales. Jericho, who was last seen in the film adaptation of Bob Ong’s ABNKKBSNPLAko?! poses for a mug shot in support of the elephant’s release from Manila Zoo.

If you remember, the People’s Ethical Treatment for Animals (PETA) has been calling for the elephant’s transfer from Manila to an elephant sanctuary in Thailand, which has already agreed to take Mali in. “I don’t understand why Mali’s transfer has not already happened,” says Rosales in a statement released by PETA. “She deserves a life that is more than the confines of the Manila Zoo.”
The controversial elephant has been enduring constant pain from potentially fatal foot problems, having received no veterinary care for more than 36 years. Add this to the fact that Mali is all alone which is such a drab considering elephants are essentially social animals that live in herds. Sad, right?
Many think so, and they’ve said so. Apart from Ely and Jericho, Charice, Aiza Seguerra, Dingdong Dantes, Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Sam Milby, and Marian Rivera are among the celebrities who’ve voiced out their support for Mali’s transfer. That’s not mentioning Baywatch babe Pam Anderson who’ve invited PNoy out for dinner, mind.
Anyway, see how cute Echo looks in this video, for Mali, of course:
