Jeepney tour launched in Historic Filipinotown in Los Angeles, California

The Pilipino Workers Center’s Hidden Hi-Fi Jeepney Tour has begun and it goes through Historic Filipinotown — which is a district of the city of Los Angeles, California. The tour aims to showcase where the Filipino community began and grew in Los Angeles.

Aqui Soriano Versoza of the Pilipino Workers Center explained, “This jeepney tour is a fun cultural Tour. But it’s a way to bring the community together.”

A Balitang America feature noted that the jeepney used for the tour is a 1944 Sarao Jeepney. The report noted: “Of the 400,000 Filipinos who reside in Los Angeles, an estimated 10,000 live in Historic Filipinotown.”
