Jeepney driver confesses he connived with robbers

Dear paranoid commuters, we owe you and apology. Your worst fears have turned out to be true.

“In the early hours of Wednesday, September 3, four people on board a Quirino-Pasay jeepney were injured during a robbery in Makati City,” reports Francis Faulve on ABS-CBNnews.com.

According to the police, “three of the victims on board a Quirino-Pasay jeepney jumped off the vehicle in somewhere in Buendia after a man suddenly pulled out a knife and declared a robbery.”

The victims noted that the jeepney driver, identified as Jocel Habaan, “suddenly drove to a different direction before the armed man a declared robbery.”

Thus, three of the victims jumped off the moving jeepney, even as the robber pointed the knife at another victim.

The jeepney driver was immediately arrested, while the gunman managed to escape.

Habaan admitted to conniving with the robber.
