He was just looking for his wife, but he found something more than he expected.

Freddie Litaoen discovered a marijuana growing operation in La Union while looking for his wife, who ran away with another man.

The “other man” turned out to be a talented horticulturist. He is believed to be the owner of the marijuana plantation measuring 1,600 square meters, with PHP8.8 million (about USD170,00) worth of weed, ABS-CBN News reports.

The man is a drug surrenderer in Benguet, a province not too far away from La Union.

Police Chief Inspector Danilo Ligay said that they saw the man with Litaoen’s wife when they went to investigate. He shot at the police as they tried to escape. His identification card was found in the plantation.

The police authorities burned the marijuana plants.

The man and Litaoen’s wife may face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and adultery.
