Is it really more fun in the Philippines?

“Japanese national Tamanori Yahagi, 40, was walking along the Baywalk area on Roxas Boulevard in Ermita, Manila when a man pointed a gun at him and took his branded digital camera and cellphone, wristwatch and cash amounting to PHP23,000 and 2,000 yen,” reports Itchie G. Cabayan on Journal Online.
   
Yahagi, who is billeted at the Rothman Hotel on Mabini Street in Malate, filed his complaint at the Manila Police District-General Assignment Section that at around 10pm on Sun, Jun 7.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident that same day, a robber identified as Junel Castillo, 18, was nabbed in Binondo after he victimized Ugandan national Shamin Maisa, 27.
   
Castillo is now detained at MPD-Station 11.
   
The report noted: “It was learned that the victim was grappling for possession of his cellphone when patrolling cops chanced upon them and had the suspect collared.”
