It may be more fun in the Philippines, but tourists have to be careful, too.
“Japanese tourist Eiichi Maki, 71, lost some 50,000 yen (around PHP22,000) and several cards to a pickpocket while he was inside the Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan City recently,” reports Rizal S. Obanil in Tempo.
At around 5:30pm, Maki’s daughter suddenly noticed that the front pocket of her father’s bag was open. The report revealed that upon checking, “they found out that his black wallet containing cash, two credit cards, and a hospital card were missing.”
Maki and his daughter immediately sought the help of the mall’s security personnel. They later found Maki’s wallet in a trash can. Its contents were all gone.
