Let’s all cross our fingers for this one.
“The Japanese government and the ruling coalition are making arrangements to waive visas for tourists from Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam as one of the initiatives in a revised action plan due out in June to make Japan a tourism-oriented country,” reports Kyodo News on ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report explained that the initiative “is aimed at drawing more tourists from Southeast Asia, including the Muslim population in the region.”
It’s also because “Japan seeks to achieve its goal of increasing the annual number of foreign visitors to 20 million in the run-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.”
