Tonight’s the night.
“Alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles, who has been confined at Ospital ng Makati since March 31, is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday night, April 22, to remove the cyst in her uterus,” reports Amita O. Legaspi on GMA News Online.
Napoles’ lawyer, Atty. Fay Isaguirre Singson, said the surgery will be handled by Dr. Elsie Badillo-Pascua, an obstetrician-gynecologist affiliated with St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Others allowed to perform and administer medical procedures and treatment to Napoles are Drs. Efren Domingo, Leo Aquizilan Michael Lim-Villa, Nick Cruz, and an anesthesiologist.
Napoles is facing a serious illegal detention case filed by whistleblower Benhur Luy, as well as plunder charges in connection with the alleged pork barrel scam.
In any case, Judge Elmo Alameda of the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 has directed Dr. Perry Ishmael Peralta, Ospital ng Makati medical director, “to submit a progress report to the court and prosecutors on the medical condition of Napoles immediately after the operation “to deter any prolonged confinement.”
