“At 10:19pm on Monday, Mar 31, Janet Lim Napoles, the businesswoman accused of engineering the pork barrel scam, was admitted to the Ospital ng Makati, where she will be undergoing surgery for myoma,” reports the Philippine News Agency on InterAksyon.com.
Napoles, who has been detained at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa Laguna, will undergo several tests three days before her surgery.
The report added that “the Makati Police will provide perimeter security around the hospital with the Regional Public Safety Battalion of Region 4-A providing close-in security.”
Napoles had earlier said she wanted to undergo surgery at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City, but Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 150 Judge Elmo Alameda decreed that the Ospital ng Makati should be enough for her.
