We like it when people get along.
“San Mig Coffee star guard James Yap expressed his gratitude to Kris Aquino after his ex-wife defended him from game-fixing allegations following the Mixers’ Game 6 loss in the PBA Philippine Cup,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
Yap had missed a potential game-tying triple against Ginebra last Monday, Feb 10. Some people accused him of purposely losing the game. On Tuesday, Feb 11, Aquino declared on her show, Aquino & Abunda Tonight, that she was certain that Yap would never be involved in game-fixing.

Indeed, by Wednesday, Feb 12, Yap completely redeemed himself in Game 7, contributing 30 points as San Mig routed Ginebra, 110-87. His team will advance to the Finals against Rain or Shine.
After the game, Yap said he was grateful to Aquino for coming to his defense. “Thank you at ipinagtanggol niya ako. Nagulat ako (Thank you to her for defending me. I was surprised),” he said simply.
