Purefoods may be the more well-rested team, but Alaska is riding on a high after finishing off Barangay Ginebra Wednesday. The two will be going for it, the first of a best-of-three series, at 7pm on Friday.
“NLEX and Meralco also open up their separate best-of-three series in the 4:15 contest with the Bolts hoping that workhouse Cliff Hodge is available after missing their last two games because of a severe ankle sprain,” reports Musong R. Castillo on Inquirer.net.
The Hot Shots, which finished No. 3 in the elims, will need to take the longer route after losing its twice-to-beat incentive. “We probably could have not picked a tougher opponent,” Purefoods coach Tim Cone was quoted as saying. “But at this point of the conference, every team is tough.”
Purefoods is looking to import Denzel Bowles for another monster game.
