We’re just as surprised as most of you are.
“By virtue of Proclamation No. 181 signed by President Fidel V. Ramos on May 21, 1993, National Hospital Week is observed from August 6 to August 12,” reports Marielle Medina of Inquirer Research in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The report noted that “the first day of National Hospital Week coincides with the birth anniversary of Dr. Sixto Y. Orosa.”
Apparently, Orosa, as the report revealed, “drafted Act No. 3168 of the Philippine Legislature, which established provincial hospitals throughout the country and organized what has evolved into the current hospital system.”
