He won’t be joining the graduation march on Sunday, Mar 16.
“Philippine Military Academy (PMA) superintendent Major General Oscar Lopez said in a radio interview on Tuesday that dismissed cadet Jeff Aldrin Cudia will be separated from service after having allegedly violated the academy’s Honor Code,” reports Camille Diola on Philstar.com.
Cudia was accused of lying about his reason for tardiness in class. The cadet appealed his case and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Emmanuel Bautista ordered a reinvestigation of the incident.
Eventually, AFP spokesman Major Gen. Domingo Tutaan revealed that “the PMA Cadet Review and Appeals Board did not find violations in the earlier decision of the Honor Committee to dismiss Cudia.”
Nevertheless, Tutaan explained that “the AFP has already endorsed the case with the same recommendation to the Office of the President through the office of the Secretary of National Defense.” However, the report said Cudia failed to submit a formal appeal for a new probe even as he was granted an extension.
For now, Cudia’s only hope lies in President Noynoy Aquino’s decision on his fate. If not, he’ll be “prevented from acquiring his degree and other distinctions.”
