It’s Election Day!

Around six million Metro Manila residents are expected to troop to polling precincts today, making the capital the region with the most number of votes next to Southern Luzon.

Some tips for those about to vote:

Voting is from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm but as with many things, it’s better to be early.

If you don’t know which precinct you’re voting in yet, check the list posted outside your voting center. Also take note of your sequence number.

Make sure you have documents to prove your identity.

When about to vote, check that the member of the Board of Election Inspectors assisting you signs the voters list and authenticates your ballot.

Check that your ballot is clean and does not have marks and only use the pen provided by the BEI.

Shade the ovals fully. You don’t have cast a vote for all positions but remember not to over-vote.

Insert the ballot in the Precinct Count Optical Scan machine. If it is rejected, you have three tries to re-insert it.

The most important thing to remember: Voting may be a hassle but having but leaders you didn’t have any say in electing is an even bigger hassle.
