ISPs in PH set to be required to install child porn filters

In the first place, kids shouldn’t be forced to be involved in pornography.

“The government’s decision to require Internet service providers to install filters to block access to child pornography comes amid a crackdown on online child pornography, during which at least 13 suspects were arrested earlier this year for allegedly offering online images of children being sexually abused,” reports Tempo Online.

Edgardo Cabarrios, regulation director of the National Telecommunications Commission, said the filters “may not eradicate (Internet child pornography) completely but they will help.”

Unfortunately, as the repot pointed out, “the Philippines is a key center of the fast-growing global industry that streams live images of children forced to commit sex acts for pedophiles abroad.”
