“Isang” is now a full-blown storm

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has upgraded Tropical Depression “Isang” into a storm even as it moves out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

According to Pagasa’s 5:00 p.m. bulletin, Isang “will enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas.”

Isang was estimated to be 210 kilometers northwest of Aparri in Cagayan as of Wednesday afternoon and is expected to be out of the PAR by this evening moving at 22 kph.

It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and has a gustiness of up to 80 kph.
