iPhone 8 released today, iPhone X goes on sale Dec. 1

Apple fans in the Philippines are expected to be lining up at stores today as Philippine carriers Globe and Smart release the iPhone 8 in their stores.

According to a press release from Globe, customers under Plan 1799 will need to shell out PHP19,200 (US$384) for the iPhone 8 64GB model, while subscribers under Plan 7999 will get it for free.

“Every year, the iPhone launch is always something Apple enthusiasts look forward to,” Globe senior vice president Issa Cabreira said in the statement.

Smart subscribers under Plan 999 will need to pay PHP29,699 (US$593) for the iPhone 8 base model, while those under Plan 2999 will pay PHP7,799 (US$155.98).

If you’re waiting for the iPhone X, you have exactly two weeks before the new phones hit shelves on Dec. 1.

According to Apple Philippines’ page, the retail price of a base model of the iPhone X is PHP64,490 (US$1,289) while the larger-capacity 256GB model costs P73,990(US$1,479).
