Inspiring: This 8-year-old boy is a PPCRV volunteer

Yes, only those of legal age can vote. For other matters? We can start ’em younger.

This 8-year-old boy is doing his part to ensure that the elections is clean, honest, and accurate.

Rhys Bunyi is the youngest volunteer in the unofficial parallel vote count of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV). He works as a volunteer encoder which requires him to copy the number of votes on the election returns to his computer.

“It’s for my future,” he told ABS-CBN News, “If I can do it, you can do it too.”

Rhys volunteers with his mom and 13-year-old sister, Sheryll. His mom wants him to grow up aware of what’s happening in the country.

PPCRV has about 150 volunteers working on eight-hour shifts. They process about 5,000 election returns per day.

They will need more volunteers in the days to come.

Those who want to volunteer may head to the Pope Pious Center in UN Avenue Manila. Visit their Facebook page for more details.
