Inmate breaks out of Valenzuala City Jail, promises to come back

A trustee at the Valenzuela City Jail escaped on Saturday but promised he’d be back.

According to a Philippine Star report, Prudito Capones Jr., an aide to Jail Officer 1 Ferdinand Bruzo, escaped early Saturday morning. Capones reportedly escaped to check on his wife because he was worried she would leave him.

“Before he left, (Capones) told his inmates that he will be back – but he did not say how,” the report said, quoting a police source.

He reportedly used jail guard Bruzo’s key to climb to the jail’s rooftop before climbing down a metal scaffolding being used for the renovation of the jail.

Superintendent Ferdinand Fontillo, warden of the Valenzuela City Jail, has been temporarily replaced while authorities investigate the jailbreak.
