Inday in PAR, not expected to make landfall

Here’s hoping it doesn’t do any damage.

“The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said a low pressure area spotted east of northern Philippines has intensified into a tropical depression,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The tropical depression, locally named “Inday,” was spotted 870 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan as of 10 a.m., packing 55 kilometers per hour and moving northwest at 15 kilometers per hour. It is not expected to make landfall.

Inday is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, July 31, and head towards Japan.

In its 24-hour forecast for Tuesday, July 29, PAGASA said Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan will experience occasional rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
