Irony: She wore a yellow raincoat just like everyone else.

“Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos attended the mass celebrated by Pope Francis at the Daniel  Z. Romualdez  Airport here on Saturday,” reports Janvic Mateo in The Philippine Star.

It must be pointed out that Marcos is an aunt of Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez.

In a chance interview after the mass, Marcos said, “The message of the Holy Father is about the poor, and I love the poor.”

She then expressed her admiration for Pope Francis, saying, “If more people think like him, the country will be more united and able to grow.”

The report noted: “Vatican correspondent John Allen reported on Catholic news website Crux that Marcos attended the mass as an ordinary pilgrim. She was seen wearing the same yellow plastic raincoat worn by the pope and the rest of the pilgrims gathered at the airport.”
