Even Bongbong’s sister, senator Imee Marcos wants the former to go to the presidential debates.

The senator gave her two cents on the issue during an interview with radio station DWIZ, where she acknowledged that her brother was receiving flak for his refusal to attend presidential debates and forums.

Bongbong only accepted the invitation to debates held by DZRH and the Apollo Quiboloy-owned SMNI, as well as an interview for Rated Korina with Korina Sanchez, and the ABS-CBN interviews conducted by Boy Abunda.

Marcos advised her brother to answer “all criticisms” and attend some debates.

Imee said, “For me, he should go. Kahit hindi lahat. Ang payo ko, sumipot sa ilan (He doesn’t have to show up to all debates. My advice, go to some.).”

Magaling naman ‘yung kapatid ko. Ang akin, mas sensitive kasi nasasaktan ‘yung kapatid kong ‘yan eh (My brother is competent. He’s just more sensitive because he easily gets hurt),” Imee said.

“For me, kahit hindi mo puntahan lahat, pumunta ka kasi dapat transparent din, accountable, responsible, open, accessible ang isang kandidato. Kung anong banat nila, harapin mo. Tutal lahat ng kaso namin, hinarap namin, (For me, even if you don’t go to all debates, you need to attend some because a candidate needs to be transparent, accountable, responsible, open, accessible. Whatever they throw at you, face it. We’ve faced all charges against us),” she added.

The hashtag #MarcosDuwag trended after netizens slammed Bongbong for his repeated decline of invitations to show up at televised debates and forums, including one held by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (Association of Broadcasters in the Philippines).
