Iglesia ni Cristo walkathon draws estimated 500,000 people

“On Saturday, Feb 15, members of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) held the World Wide Walk in Manila for the benefit of Typhoon Yolanda survivors and police estimated the crowd to be around 500,000,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com; though the Philippine Daily Inquirer puts it at “at least 175,000 people.

With the walkathon, the INC also aims o set a new Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest gathering. The report said that they’re hoping to beat Singapore’s current record of 70,000.

Meanwhile, the PHP250 registration fees raised at the event will go to the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation for the benefit of primarily INC survivors of Typhoon Yolanda.
