If you think the heat is a hassle in the city, it’s deadly (not to mention costly) in farms elsewhere in the country.
“Since February, around 400 chickens have died from the heat in one poulty farm in La Union,” reports the ABS-CBN morning show Umagang Kay Ganda.
Veterinarians from the Department of Agriculture had advised farmers to add electrolytes to the chickens’ water.
Otherwise, those chickens are all going to be “roasted” alive.
