This is how the meeting between Valkyrie and Floresca went down

Baby steps.

Valkyrie has changed some of their personnel and will be conducting a seminar so their staff is properly aware of the club’s entrance policy, transgender fashion designer Veejay Floresca told Coconuts Manila a day after she met with the management of the controversial BGC club.

On June 20, Floresca and another transgender friend, Trixie Maristela, were refused entrance by the clubs security guards because they were wearing women’s clothes. The local LGBT community cried foul and accused the high-end venue of discrimination.

Posting to Facebook, Floresca happily announced on Tuesday the results of her meeting with the club’s management.

According to her, the club allows guests who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender but they must “follow the appropriate dress code policy” which includes not wearing sandals or tank tops, among others.

“Just finished a meeting with the people from Valkyrie,” she wrote. “To all my LGBT friends, I am happy to announce that we are all welcome to enter the club. They don’t discriminate. This is a good start.”

Actually Valkyrie did discriminate, but if they promise to stop discriminating from heron, then we’re happy as a puppy.
