Honest OFW returns 200,000 yen found at airport

And now for our favorite kind of news: An overseas Filipino worker who found 200,000 yen (or around P82,762) in an envelope at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to an airport policeman.

Myrna dela Cruz, a physical therapist based in Riyadh, found the envelope with the message “To Mommy and Daddy, from Aileen, I missed you” under her seat at the pre-departure lounge of the airport, Malaya Business Insight reports. Inside the envelope was money and a marriage contract between Narvel Rodriguez and Fretzie Belarmino of Cavite province.

She said she tried to page the owner of the envelope but nobody responded so she turned over the money to NAIA authorities.

“I have no interest whatever in the amount inside the envelope because I can earn more than that,” she said.
