Honest NAIA T2 police returns Korean tourist’s wallet and phone

Honestly is hardly ever heard, as Billy Joel has sung, and it’s mostly what we need in this country.

So we’re glad to tell you about the story of Ricardo Ongtawco, an airport police officer who returned a passenger’s wallet and cellular phone which he found during a routine security patrol at Terminal 2 on Tue, Sep 13, ABS-CBN News reports.

Upon ascertaining the identity of the owner, Ongtawco used the airport’s paging system to call owner Woon Yeon Ki, who was forever grateful.

“It’s only right to do good things for others,” said Ongtawko, who explained that it never crossed his mind to keep the cellphone and wallet.

He will receive a commendation from Manila International Airport Authority general manager Ed Monreal for his “exemplary honesty.”
