Two people have died after a bomb exploded in a private subdivision in Santo Tomas, Batangas this morning.
Batangas Provincial Police Office Director Edwin Quilates said the victims are believed to be a couple, Philippine Star reported. However, the two have yet to be identified. The report added that the blast came from a homemade bomb.
The explosion happened at 11am at a house where improvised “blasting caps” or detonators were being made, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported. The house is situated in the town’s Madison Garden Subdivision in Barangay (Village) Roque.
A boy survived the blast and was rushed to a hospital for treatment for the minor injuries he obtained, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported. The police believe that one of the victims was the boy’s parent.
