Heart Evangelista — actress, painter, politician’s wife, and real-life Crazy Rich Asian — went viral on social media yesterday when a Facebook page called Adulting Philippines posted a clip from her Instagram Stories where she wears a glamorous blue dress.
“This is my look for today. I am on my way to the grocery to buy corned beef,” she says in the video.
Adulting Philippines’ post comes with the caption: “[You] when you just got paid.”
“Heart Evangelista was really born to make us all feel poor,” the page also wrote.
The actress, who was part of Harper’s Bazaar‘s real Crazy Rich Asians feature, was quick to take it back in another Instagram post where she says “char,” Filipino slang for “just kidding”
The video was also shared by a fan page called @loveheartevangelista.
In the same post, Evangelista jokes with her husband Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero that she’s ready to go to the grocery to buy fish and chicken because she has to make sinigang (Filipino sour soup).
