Harrison Plaza praised for being one of Manila top taxpayers

Don’t judge a past-its-prime shopping spot by its cover.

“Harrison Plaza, the Philippines’ first shopping mall, received recently a plaque of appreciation from the City of Manila for being one of its top 10 taxpayers for 2012,” reports Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Apparently, the mall, which is located on Mabini Street in Malate has consistently landed on Manila’s list of top 10 taxpayers.

Who would have thought, right?

Earlier this month, popular Manila tourist guide and media personality Carlos Celdran posted a photo of the mall’s interiors on his Facebook page.

He captioned it thus: “The ballad of Harrison Plaza. Can someone tell me why this place is such a dump. How did it come to this? And what can we do to make the family who owns it do a better job of running it?”
