Happy Earth hour: 4 hotels going green for Earth hour

Planning to celebrate Earth Hour on March 19?

At 8:30 to 9:30pm iconic landmarks around the world will switch-off their lights to deliver a powerful message by making a stand against climate change. The celebration of this year’s Manila leg is centered at the Quezon City Memorial Circle where stationary Bambikes will partially power the event.

However, you can celebrate Earth hour wherever you may be.

Finding a way to amuse yourself for 60 minutes when the lights go out? Here are our suggestions for celebrating an awesomely green Earth Hour around the Metro!

1. Drink cocktails and watch the sunset at Pan Pacific Manila

Come in a little early and enjoy the beautiful sunset at Pan Pacific’s Sunset Lounge. You can enjoy unlimited pica-pica and cocktails from their pre-dinner menu for only PHP850. For entertainment, Jerome Rico and Mara Viola will provide acoustic background music throughout the event. M. Adriatico corner General Malvar Streets; +63 2 3180788

2. Appreciate a dandellion exhibit (made from bottles!) at Dusit Thani Hotel

Giant plastic bottle dandellions made by Filipino-French artist Olivia D’ Aboville will be on display at the Japanese Garden from Mar 17 to 21. On Mar 19, lights at their lobby and restaurants will be dimmed to join the rest of the world in celebration of Earth Hour. A 30% discount will be extended to all guests dining at The Pantry. 3. Go organic and enjoy special desserts at Marriot Hotel

For the month of March, Marriot Hotel included special items at their Great Room Lounge in celebration of Earth Hour. Indulge in mouthwatering organic appetizers like grilled free range chicken skewers and pickled garden vegetables, with Tzatziki yogurt sauce. We’re particularly excited about the edible chocolate flower pot made from  Oreo pudding layers, Maracaibo chocolate mousse, salted caramel cream, and edible plant.
