This guy wants to ‘become Filipino,’ shares 5 things the world can learn from Pinoy culture

Philippines, you just got yourself a new fan.

His name is Kyle Jennermann, a 25-year-old Canadian guy who, in 2013. spent two-and-a-half months in the country. In February this year, he moved to Cagayan de Oro.

He also runs the blog www.becomingfilipino.com which he started because, he says, “I don’t have a Filipino passport and it would be almost impossible for me to get one.”

“I love the Philippines and would be honored to be part Filipino…I am asking for help. I need help creating a list, but not just any list…a list that will help me in #BecomingFilipino,” he writes on his blog.

His post on July 20, “Five Things The World Can Learn From The Philippines,” has gone viral. “I believe that Filipino culture can have a positive influence on the lives of others around this beautiful world,” he writes.

Here are his five lessons:

1. Giving expecting nothing in return but Happiness.

2. Welcoming strangers like family.

3. Believing in life, being positive with whatever you have, and one’s ability to bounce back.

4. Making sharing an everyday part of life.

5. Taking moments to enjoy our lives and share happiness.
