Authorities confiscated various firearms, ammunition and bomb parts late Monday from the house of a police official who allegedly fell in love with a suspected Abu Sayyaf terrorist.

Among those found in the home of Superintendent Maria Cristina Nobleza in Casisang, Malaybalay City were an M-16 rifle, a caliber .45 pistol, over 200 cartridges, and bomb parts including a timer, a soldering device, and 66 blasting caps.

The raiding team also recovered documents about terrorist activities from Nobleza’s house.

Authorities arrested Al Mohammar Bayani, a 22-year-old occupant of the house.

Two minors who also live in Nobleza’s home were turned over to the city’s social welfare office.
Nobleza is accused of attempting to rescue Abu Sayyaf fighters in Bohol, together with her alleged lover, Ranierlo Dongon, a suspected bomb expert.

The couple was arrested after attempting to evade a checkpoint in Clarin town on Saturday, around the same time that terrorists and security forces were exchanging gun fire.

On Monday night, parts of a homemade bomb were also recovered from an apartment that Dongon and Nobleza rented before their arrest.
The suspects were transferred to the national police headquarters in Quezon City Tuesday. — With a report from Maria Cecilia Butardo, ABS-CBN News
