Should the Internet world stop obsessing about that seminarian?

With the spotlight beaming strong and hard on Kenneth Rey Parsad, the young seminarian who sang the responsorial psalm at the Manila Cathedral Mass of Pope Francis, many people have quite a few things to say about him. One camp: Media should just leave him alone. Another camp: It’s good that he’s become something of a poster boy for priesthood.

In our “exclusive” interview with the young seminarian on Monday — he has since talked to other media outfits — Kenneth told Coconuts Manila that he encountered some doubts about priesthood right after college graduation.

“A lot of my classmates were leaving for the outside world, so I also tempted. But I decided to stay because I wasn’t prepared. I know myself and I was sure I wasn’t prepared then. Besides, I was happy inside the seminary,” he told us.
