You can’t make this up.
On Thu, Dec 29, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and other police officers inspected a pyrotechnics center in Bocaue, Bulacan.
To update the media on illegal firecrackers, Dela Rosa presented a triangular firecracker that had been named, “Goodbye De Lima.”
Dela Rosa reportedly even joked that he had nothing to do with the name of the firecracker. (In case you didn’t know, the firecracker was named after Senator Leila de Lima, who has been tagged as President Rodrigo Duterte’s nemesis.)
However, when the started firecracker to emit gray particles. At first, everyone thought it was smoke.
Dela Rosa then dropped the firecracker and ran for cover along with everyone else.
“Luckily, a cop got hold of the firecracker, threw it on the ground, and then doused it with water,” reports ABS-CBN News Online.
Apparently, the firecracker’s powder had just leaked. It wasn’t smoking at all.
Dela Rosa and the rest of the people who panicked were immediately relieved.
