When it first happened, we all thought it was a glitch that was supposed to be fixed and forgotten. But when SkyCable subscribers cried foul again over losing their signal during the noontime show Eat Bulaga!, people started to think there’s a pattern in there somewhere.

This is why GMA-7 has filed yet another complaint against SkyCable for the alleged “persistent signal loss” during Eat Bulaga!. This is separate from the network’s complaint filed last August 25, also on signal disruption. GMA-7 submitted the complaint to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

In an official statement, GMA-7, acting on “numerous complaints” from SkyCable subscribers, wrote there is “basis to believe that the signal disruptions were effected in order to reduce the viewership level of GMA/Eat Bulaga.”

GMA-7 is concerned the signal loss is affecting the viewership of Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye segment, starring Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza. Eat Bulaga struck gold with the loveteam and has been consistently setting new records in the ratings game. Online, the Sep 19 episode set new records on Twitter with more than 12 million mentions in 24 hours.

Along with their letter, GMA-7 also attached a copy of a video from a SkyCable subscriber in Pasig City. It showed signal loss during Eat Bulaga’s Sep. 10 episode.

Also presented were numerous complaints that submitted through e-mail, GMA’s official Facebook page, and through GMA’s hotline.

“The seeming similarity in the reports indicate that they are not isolated cases,” the statement said.

Many people have also taken to Twitter, and check them out below. It’s not looking good for SkyCable so far.
