We’re pretty sure this development will get mixed reactions from Pinoys.
At around 6:25pm on Thu, Jul 21, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo finally left Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City. It had been two days since the Supreme Court (SC) announced it had voted 11-4 dismissing her plunder case involving Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) funds.
Arroyo was accused of conspiring with other PCSO officials in misusing PHP366 million of the PCSO intelligence funds from 2008 to 2010. She had been detained at VMMC since 2011.
“Arroyo’s supporters and allies had been awaiting her release from the VMMC since Tue, Jul 19,” reports ABS-CBN News.
Another ABS-CBN News report by Christian Esguerra noted that Arroyo claimed to be in pain as she was walking around the VMMC a few hours before she was finally allowed to leave.
