Globe can’t retrieve Vhong’s deleted text messages

The list of people and entities who have been dragged into the Vhong Navarro-Deniece Cornejo-Cedric Lee scandal is growing longer. The latest addition is Globe Telecom.

“On Tuesday, Feb 3, Atty. Froilan Castelo, Globe’s senior vice president and legal counsel, said that the communications provider does not keep an archive of its subcribers’ text messages as this intrudes into their privacy,” reports Philstar.com

Castelo’s statement was in response to Navarro’s lawyer, Alma Mallonga, who had said in interviews that they would ask Globe for a copy of the text messages of Cornejo that were allegedly erased from Navarro’s mobile phone by Cornejo’s so-called “rescuers.”

Castelo explained, “Globe doesn’t keep records of text messages, what we have are transaction records, which indicate that a text message was sent on this day, hour, and minute.”

The report pointed out that “Navarro alleged in his affidavit submitted to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) that Lee’s group had erased the text messages from his phone to conceal his exchange with Cornejo.”
