Global industry leaders will be arriving in the Philippines to attend the annual International Outsourcing Summit (IOS) in October, announced the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP).
This year’s summit will be held from October 6 to 8 at the Makati Shangri-La and will focus on the theme: “Unlocking Possibilities, Creating New Vistas.” IBPAP president and CEO Jose Mari Mercado said the summit will discuss how developing economies like the Philippines are paving the way for innovation and expanding business opportunities. According to Mercado, the International research firm Everest Group said the Philippines is rapidly improving in software development and information technology outsourcing (ITO).
The local healthcare information management (HIM) sector has earned the highest growth among the sectors with $430 million for 2012. At the same time, we are still leading the voice or contact center sector, with a 21% growth posted last year, ABS CBN News reported.
