Barely hours into election day, reports of missing names, disenfranchised voters and malfunctioning Precinct-Count Optical Scanner (PCOS) machines are already being received nationwide.
In Metro Manila, initial reports from GMA News said there is trouble brewing at Sta. Teresa Elementary School in Taguig because the PCOS machine is not working. Voters who arrived early to cats their ballots are concerned that they might not be able to vote since the machine is not functioning. Some voters in Marikina City complained of being unable to find their names in the roster.
Meanwhile, ABS CBN News reports that one out 28 PCOS machines at the Ramon Magsaysay High School in Manila failed to work and had to be repaired by a technician. It took about half an hour for machine to work.
Reports of similar problems are trickling in from all over the country.
