Meyah Amatorio, the girlfriend of murdered driver Jang Lucero, was abducted by unidentified men today, the Laguna police announced.

At least ten people kidnapped Amatorio and another relative, Adrian Ramos, at about 12:20pm in Calo village in Bay, Laguna. The authorities learned about the kidnapping after it was reported to them by Amatorio’s family. They’re currently in search of CCTV footage to establish how the crime occurred.

Lieutenant Colonel Chitadel Gaoiran, the spokesman of the provincial police, told The Philippine Daily Inquirer that an investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the kidnapping and the identity of the abductors.

Jang’s sibling, Angela Lucero, alleged about a week ago that Amatorio may have something to do with her sister’s death because the latter was allegedly cheating on the victim. Amatorio has denied that she has anything to do with her girlfriend’s murder.

Earlier this month, the Calamba City police arrested a certain Ann Sheila Montes Belarmino whom they alleged to be the mastermind behind Jang’s killing based on a witness’s testimony. However, Belarmino was freed days later, after the prosecutor decided that the evidence against her was weak.

A resident of Pasay City, Lucero was found dead with at least 50 stab wounds inside her car, which was parked along Bucal Bypass Road in Calamba City. Most of her wounds were located in her chest. Before her death, Lucero reportedly drove Amatorio to the town of Bay, where the latter resides.
