Emilyn Villanueva — the 15-year-old girl from Malabon City who was hit in the head by a bullet on New Year’s Eve — has died. She had gone into a coma before she died.
Department of Health chief Dr. Paulyn Ubial confirmed the sad news on Wed, Jan 4.
“On Sun, Jan 1, Malabon City police claimed that the teenager was not hit by a stray bullet but was shot by a still unidentified gunman. The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) also claimed that it was a ‘shooting incident,'” reports ABS-CBN News.
Ubial, however, said health officials who visited Villanueva when she was still in the hospital have reasons to believe that she is a victim of a stray bullet from indiscriminate firing.
