On Thu, May 5, photographer Jason Magbanua shared via his Facebook page a photo of the campaign poster of Erick Habijan, who is running for councilor in Marikina City’s 2nd District. The poster had the tagline: “Bago. Bata. Bakla.”
Magbanua had written this caption to accompany the photo he posted: “This I can get behind. Change. For real.”
As it turned out, Habijan’s mother, Irene Franco Habijan, commented on the photo. She wrote:
Dearest Jason,
I am the mother of Erick and from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Your support is truly of great help for his campaign. I am happy to kmow that you saw his potential to be a great public servant.
I have always been proud of him. Mahusay ang anak ko dahil bakla siya… bakla na may talino at may magagawa.
God bless you Jason. [And to] everyone who liked and shared Jason’s post, thank you! And let’s pray for a peaceful and clean elections.
To quote Magbanua, “This we can get behind. Change. For real.”
