It’s all because the Palace is giving mixed signals about whether they’re pushing a term extension for President Noynoy Aquino or not.
“In an interview with Lynda Jumilla on ANC’s Beyond Politics, former President Fidel V. Ramos said President Aquino can try to seek a new term but warned against overstaying in power,” reports Jojo Malig on ABS-CBNnews.com.
Borrowing a quote from Leo Oracion, the first Filipino to climb to the top of Mt. Everest, Ramos had this to say to Aquino: “Leo said, ‘Going up to the top is optional but coming back down is mandatory because you cannot stay at the top forever.’ You got it?”
Ramos then went on to criticize the “Palace officials who are giving mixed signals” about the issue.
“Sometimes the spokesman says one thing. Sometimes the deputy spokesperson says another thing. I really have no idea what ‘daang matuwid’ is.”
