…And they call it, puppy love.

On March 4, Lally and Kian walked down the aisle as they promised to stay together fur-ever and ever.

The adorable Shih Tzus said their “bows” in an amazing wedding ceremony at Patungan Beach at Maragondon Cavite. It is possibly the first ever documented canine wedding in the Philippines.

According to the proud pet mom Therese Halili, Lally and Kian “dated” for about a year prior to the wedding. Kian and his parent Tholytez Laserna would often visit Lally’s home and bring her yummy dogfood as part of their “courtship” process.

Lally and Kian’s wedding was attended by about 25 dogs and their respective pet parents. 12 other dogs were part of the entourage, including pomeranians, Siberian huskies, and labradors. A dog officiant and a dog wedding singer were also present.

The wedding planning started in February. The dogs had their special outfits made for the event. Therese and Tholytez also prepared a feast of dog food and beef meats for the reception.

Professional pet photographer Che Vienes was hands on in capturing every moment of the love story.

She encouraged Therese and Tholytez to push through with a pre-nuptial photography session, which was done at Recuardos in Cavite earlier this year.

There were also photos of the bride’s preparations in Sonia’s Garden.

The photoshoot during Lally and Kian’s big day was very much like a photoshoot in a traditional human wedding. Che explained that the dog wedding was part of her advocacy. She wants humans to go the extra mile in taking care of their companions.

“I’m so excited to be a granny,” proud dog mom Theresa told Coconuts Manila. We’re excited to see Lally and Kian’s babies too!

Pet lovers who are interested in Che’s photography may get in touch with her via Facebook.
