Friday special for seafarers: Free LRT rides

Filipino seafarers are in for a treat from the Light Rail Transit Authority. The agency, which operates the LRT1 (Baclaran-Monumento line) and LRT2 (Santolan, Pasig-Recto line), is giving out free rides for seafarers today. Seafarers are among those being honored by the government, which is celebrating the National Maritime Week, according to Hernando Cabrera, LRTA spokesperson. Posting to his Twitter account, Cabrera said seafarers ride for free from 7am-9am and 5pm-7pm. Seafarers may take their free rides at all LRT1 and LRT2 stations. A seafarer must present a valid Seaman’s book or a PRC ID to avail of the ride, he explained. MM
