Does the senator have a point or is he being impossible?
“On Wednesday, Mar 5, Senate President Franklin Drilon rejected calls for government officials, including lawmakers, to undergo lifestyle checks, saying the focus should be on the plunder complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman over the pork barrel scam,” reports Ernie Reyes on InterAksyon.com.

You know, I don’t know where this controversy is heading. You know, what everyone should be tackling are the cases filed with the Ombudsman. That is what’s needed, what is truly important).”
The senator also added that “calls for lifestyle checks were bound nowhere since government officials are supposed to be under public scrutiny and their statements of assets, liabilities and net worth, which they are mandated to file regularly, are already open to anyone.”
