The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) yesterday seized PHP6.8 million pesos (US$131,434) worth of shabu (methamphetamine) and arrested four suspects during a sting at a Malate, Manila hotel.

Those arrested were Soebir Sbir Madaili, 54; Saipoding Pumbaya, 23; Saipoden Alnao Sultan, 32; and Johary Mamocarao Maromaya, 18, Bombo Radyo reported. Another suspect named Fajad Sultan managed to escape, according to The Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The suspects were arrested inside their hotel room after agreeing to meet PDEA agents who posed as customers, reported Diaryo Bomba.

PDEA agents seized one-kilogram of shabu and cash worth PHP1,500 (US$28.97) from the suspects. They will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a manhunt is underway to catch Sultan.
